Ok folks it's update time again. I've been refraining from posting too many updates just because I wasn't spending enough time at the work bench due to snapping photos and posting all the time. I've till gotta install the seat belts/buckles, the steering wheel and some accessories here and there but I'm getting there..........Looks like I'll be sliding that drivers seat a little more forward. That's gonna look funny with the steering wheel that far away.
Stunning interior Joe. Did you do your own gauge decals? How did you do the shifter boot?

Thanks Lee! I ended up using the shifter boot from the Revell '90 Mustang LX kit as I have two of those. I did get a great idea from my wife to use some clay that I can bake so it hardens for future use.
Finally got a moment of reprieve from playing with the grand kids to get caught up with ya Joe. And while I was distracted I see that..... Holy Mother of Awesome!!!! How fantastic is THAT? Some truly jaw dropping detail you've popped out there my friend.
I like it when you choose to spend extra time at the bench and then drop these terrific update pics on us.

love those floor matts great job on that interior
Nick.
Looks great so far. An easier way to strip chrome is to use regular bleach. Put the part in a container with bleach and you can watch the chrome disolve. Very fast method. Cheers!
Thanks Joe and Crown!!!
Thank you as well Wallace and I appreciate the tip.
Well I spent dang near an hour this morning at the bench. It was enough to get the seat belts assembled and finished..........
Eric
Thanks Eric! It's almost as much fun as the engine for it was. lol
Impressive work Joe!
Oh yeah! The seat belts look great Joe. Yet again, your patience and skill have paid off remarkablely.
Gees Joe, are you sure the thread count is correct for the seatbelt fabric?
Seriously good looking
Thanks Lee , Joe and Steve!
Rather than risk either using the originals or bolotching the things up myself, I outsourced the decal restoration project. While he was doing that I had him add a personalized license plate with the newer style Texas plate format so that it could be read easier. I thought the RUQWKR was in order. lol
Pretty slick interior there Joe.
I ditto Crown, those floor mats definitely caught my eye. And I'm also curioius how you did the eight-ball.
Thanks alot Greg. PM sent...........
That's slick that you were able to to get someone to create a set of decals for you. They're excellent. Love your plates. I've yet to see that new style Texas plate.
Thanks Joe! I'm really stoked about using them alright.
Well guys I feared not being able to use the couch as it was just too bulky. I have another plan using the same layout though. Moving forward.......
Ok fellas. Finally some worthwhile benchtime this morning. I managed to modify the OOB rear flooring to fit around the wheel tubs in the back and mate up to the original front floor section almost perfectly. I shot primer, then the red coat and then flocked it after the red had dried. So far so good. The wheel tub coloring / flocking is up next.
From here:
To here:
That floor is just flocking beautiful.
Kidding aside, looking great, Joe.
Very nicely done Joe.
Very nice. Does the rear door open on this? Hate to see the detail not seen on the finished build.
Thanks Greg! lol .
Thank you good sir Joe!
Lee: 'Preciate the good word. Oh yeah. It'll be open alright. I'm not doing all that stuff in there for nuthin' you know.
Well as some of you might've figured from the get go......that big couch aint going to work! It's too tall and takes up way too much room in the back. I even trimmed out the bottom of it so the wheel tub would fit up inside the bottom of the couch and it was still too tall. No worries though. I broke out the bench seat from the kit and filled in the area at the center of the couch where the transmission hump cut out was and have it primed so far. I also tossed the coffee table from the equation as the TV was sitting up too high and would've hit the roof. I replaced that with a section of clear plastic from Evergreen and painted it black on the back side to give it that "black glass" look. I'm currently working on the L angled two legs for the front of the table. I believe this....is more doable. I still have to carpet the side of the R/H wheel tub but I'm makin' some progress anyhow.
Great improvising Joe. Looks like your new scheme will work out great. Love the TV. Beautiful work so far. I like it.
Thanks good buddy Joe!! So far it's still looking like I may actually finish this thing within the decade. lol
1st: WOW! just bearly covers these improvements andTVs in and runnin'
Right fine job on the carpet and couch too.
OH Say, somewhere I have one of those 1/34 scale lava lamps....oh wait, I traded it for a 1/44 scale 8 track, .... sorry thought I could help ya there for a minute.
LOL! Thanks for the kudos Steve! I've looked for the lava lamps and have found a source for lighting but no lava lamps.
