Got the rear suspension finished......

Gonna run some Gragar S/S wheels with Firestone Deluxe Champion Blue Lines......

Maybe a little more detail paint on those wheels before I'm done.

I really like the idea behind this build and you're doing a swell job with it Keith.

Man it's been a long while since I've talked to you and alot of stuff has happened in real life that got in the way. You still got that Barracuda kit man?

Howdy, Mr. Mustang! Yep, it's been a while! Real life has a way of prying us away from the workbench! HAHA

Sadly, I don't have the Barracuda kit, anymore. I made a pretty good trade with a fellow modeler for a "Holy Grail" type model, so we both did okay!

Lee, that's not a bad idea on the center caps. I'll certainly consider doing something like that.

Here is the front pan from the Cougar kit......

The Sharpie marks are showing parts of the pan that are molded in.

That part is not on a 1:1 Cougar......

You can see the marked portion in the following pic......

Here is the same piece with the portions removed......

To me, it just looks better than trying to black it out with Flat black paint.

The sterring wheel in the Cougar kit, like most steering wheels in scale model kits, had the holes in the spokes moled shut......

So, I grabbed some drill bits, that I can barely see, and drilled them out.

I also fabricated a steering column that looks more like the real thing......

I'm kicking around a couple ideas on the taillights......

This is the custom piece from the Cougar kit. It has a bar running through the middle, almost like the one I added to the front grille.

The other option is stock taillights and bumper......

These are the Cougar decals available from Keith Marks......

They can be used for a '67, or '68 Cougar.

I shot some flat black on a few parts......

This brings this build up to date. I started it in 2017!!

It will be a while before I get to work on it, or ANY build, as I'm in the middle of packing and moving 47 years worth of pricelss junk out of the house! We sold the house, and gotta be out by November the last, 2020!! LOL

Wish me luck, folks, and comments about the "Puma GT" are always welcome!!

Looking good.  My vote not that it matters is for the stock tail light treatment.

I'm with midnight, the stockers, but maybe add the bars like you did for the grille.

I'm with goldhammer and Midnight prowler.

The stock taillights really nail it for me, and

I like the idea of goldhammer to add the strips of plastic

to the taillights like the front grill.

Build this how you want. But for what it's worth, I prefer the look of the factory lamps over those custom ones. On some things I am a bit of a purist, but like I said, who cares what we think, it's your kit, build it how YOU want.

I think it looks great. The added grill bars look like the ones on the factory GTE, which were black with chrome on the edges. I like the stock taillight look. The '67 Shelby used the Cougar taillight lens but didn't use the grill covering. You would need to remove the "fins" on the lenses for this look. The '68 Shelby as in the Snakebite kit used '65 T-Bird taillights. I almost bought a dark green / tan 427 powered '68 GTE but already had too many project cars. Bob

I'm a big fan of the stock tail lights but those lights with the bars have an interesting and cool look to them as well.

No worries on that Cuda kit Keith. Glad that you were able to work out a deal with it.

Looking forward to more of this build here.

While I like the bars, how do the headlights open with that front bar on them?  Does the bar split?

Puma G.T.?

I don't think so my friend! More like " I want the big mean, mechanical Kitty" Awesome job on the roof and body line build. I think though I would've just left the roof " B " pillars without a window. A window that does not open,  is not cure for Car-Sickness!

Now lets put in a bored out 460 and a Tremec 6 speed and see what she does, okay? Then I want the keys! Definitely go with the Bars on the lights front and Back!

LonCray

Yessir, those bars are actually three pieces on each side. When I get to the point of painting these, I will lightly score each bar to help them look like three pieces.

Thanks for all the great comments, folks! Input helps me determine which direction I'll go with just about any build I attempt.
