One thing I really enjoyed about NASCAR in the '60s it was "run what ya brung." Ned Jarrett was one of my favorites. An excellent build representing a bygone era in stock car racing. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Frank. The sixtys are probably my most favorite era of Nascar. Thats why I end up mosrly building cars from the sixtys. I was at Richmond Va. as a ten year old boy when I saw my first race. Ned was there too driving a 1961 Chevy. I actually got to go into the infield after the race and touch all the cars. really accessible back then.

I had to look him up.  Great story about his first nascar win here: https://www.autoweek.com/racing/nascar/a38126961/ned-jarrett-first-nascar-win-blood/

Bought a new to him racecar floating a check counting on winning two races over the weekend and get the winnings in the bank by Monday.  And he did it!

Thanks,

John

Got this one done after 3 months. Amt kit purchased at Walmart. 145 hours. It's one of those sealed hood models with molded in seats and exhaust so lots of cutting and adding is required. I also tried to change the automatic transmission underneath to look like a manual trnasmission. I have always liked the look of the 64 Ford, so I bought 2 more of the kits. This is the car That Ned won the Dixie 400 in that year.
