Pocher cloudy windows
Posted by Holley on Saturday, April 19, 2003 10:16 PM
I have recently aquired a Pocher 1/8 scale Buggati Coupe de Ville. The windows were sealed in plastic but look like they have been marred by glue. Anyone have any ideas on polishing out the cloudiness?

Try getting a new set from Pocher. Failing that, See if you can get hold of some micromesh, it's a very fine series of wet'n'dry papers used for polishing out scratches on aircraft. Even cheaper, go into the bathroom and steal the toothpaste! Apply on a soft cloth from the tube a little at a time, wash off with water say every five minutes or so. Or, maybe you can make new windows using clear plastic card? Good Luck

You may be able to polish them with Novus #2 polish.

Got a Coupe de Ville? Lucky you! these are pretty rare.

Getting new windows from Pocher might be harder than expected. Their automotive branch is out of business, the rest hardly survived. (didn't show up on Europe's most important show)

Polishing out is an option, can be done with about anything you can but in the car-care dept or your local gas station.

There is a guy on E-bay, named " Brasem " who was selling loads of stuff for a Pocher Bugatti. He might still have the windows.

Vive la marque!!

I've only built one of the Alfas so didn't have this problem.

I agree with the others but if you don't have any luck with the various polishes try the forum on Brady Ward's site at

http://www.scaleautoworks.com

someone on there is bound to know about this problem.

Alternatively Dave Cox at

http://www.modelmotorcars.com

I don't know his email off hand but it is shown on that site home page
Dave knows about everything there is to know about Pocher.

Good luck
