Hi Ya'll;
I must give all of you my most abject apology. I am still having Therapy and it doesn't seem like it is going to end soon. Body comes before anything when the outcome without could be surgery. On My Back !-Not on Your Life! I already know what the outcome would be.
Some days I do well and some I can hardly take a step without a pain level of 8 or 9. It is what called Caudal Equine Syndrome. It hits without warning. Requires a lot of therapy or Surgery. The outcome For some, a permanent Ride after surgery. It all encompasses the Sciatic nerve bundles.
My mind hasn't been calm enough to sit and think about scratch building just now. But, that said here's a look at some of Four; How do you get the bends for Bow flares and things like that. Can you picture a Big Serving Spoon? Hot enough to heat plastic without sticking to it.
Okay, Now take that spoon and rest it gently on the part drawing it the length of the part. Viola' A curved part! The old style Slots and Curves is still used by many on thicker Wood and Plastic parts ,On wood you dip the spoon in boiling water( Yup, a form of steam box) We don't want the spoon that hot for plastic.The slot method I find in plastic makes a weaker structure.
There have been times I actually did a lot of frames and slowly plated them with .010 or .020 sheet. This is very time consuming! Now I do fewer frames and just shape the ends of my ship with that hot spoon!
