VERY nicely done, that red tail, and the decal work is top notch ... I still can't wrap my head around how frickin' huge this thing is, in real life and in 1/144. I would literally have no place to put it.

Great job!  Are the windows decals, or did you try something else?

Yep the windows are decals.  Had to fill in the ones on the fuselodge, cause Qantas had a little bit different arrangement.

hi, very nicely done !!

Im just starting to built one as well and want to ask you (maybe stupid) question:

did you use qantas decals from link above or did you find some other ?

... because if I check preview of this twosix decal sheet, there are no registration signs so just wondering where did you get these ... VH-QQC and QC letters as well as Airbus A380 text on back of body ...

thank you

Yes I did use the decals from the link.  The TwoSix Decals come with the Airbus A380 text and the registration codes for the first three aircraft of Qantas' A380 fleet (VH-QQA, QB and QC), along with other stencils specific to Qantas.  For all the other stencils, I just used the ones from the kit.

I used XtraColor Qantas Red for the tail and Insignia White for the fuselodge.

thanks for your help and by the way your A380 is super (I saw the photos now!!)

Are XTRA color available on ebay or on the net??

Was it a spray can or did you spray it with an airbrush?

thanks again and congrats on your model

I don't know if Xtracolor is on ebay or not, I got it from airlinehobby.com (its also available from other online shops).  It comes in a small can and has to be airbrushed.

I filled in the windows and used the ones from the decal sheet.  After I did I noticed that Qantas as a different arrangement of windows than what's supplied in the kit, so best bet would be to fill them in.  To make things easier on me, I used the decals for the cockpit windows as well.

Superb build well done! We flew in the Singapore Airlines version to Bali and back two years ago. Yes they are very big and very quiet inside!

If you haven't seen this, take a look at an Emirates A380 landing in Toronto.  One of these days I'm going to this spot.  It's amazing!! Big Smile
