The finale to this build:
Fate Plays a Role
A dark mass glides past and it disappears into blackness. Alarmed by this, the seaman communicates to Nemo what happened whereby the order is given, "All stop!"
The boat is turned and in short order the culprit comes into view.
Before them are the remains of an ancient city. The crew stand transfixed at the nearness of their demise.
Nemo dispatches divers. What is reported back beggars the imagination. The city is mostly intact, but more importantly they find artifacts of solid gold.
Over the years more treasure sites are found, mostly galleons. It is more treasure than Nemo can use, and most is left in place. Although--Nemo creates a detailed record of their locations. I mean... who wouldn't!
Some fun stuff
I don't recall who suggested it but it was thrown out there to use a smoke machine. Then Capn suggested making an enclosure for it. While airbrushing -- it occurred to me that I could use my booth for imaging purposes. The top of the booth has a clear piece of plexiglass I can shine light through. I purchased some colored glass to place on top of the booth and then I place a light on top of that. Initially, I tried burning incense in the booth to smoke it up. It somewhat worked but not great. Then the answer hit me. I have some colored wrapping film that I taped to the front of the booth. I then took the image through that. That gave me the deeper distortions and depth that I as looking for.
Nautilus Goes Stealth
The image below is a happy accident. I like this one. I forgot to turn the models lights on. This image was taken using the overhead light, incense for effect, and no film.
Lastly, a GIF of the engine room.
Thanks to all of you that posted to this thread. You made it a fun WIP.
