 I have an interesting question here . Based on what I see , were those originally motorized ? Hull shapes are somewhat better than REVELL'S old offering or am I looking at them wrong ?

 Marcus and I  were discussing the differences in the two hulls and I had questioned the large shaft alley looking part on or in the molding on both .

 We both agreed that maybe this was just to give strength to the stern bottom area .

Somebody needs to put together a Gulf War version of the ship.

Free Time Hobbies is showing the Very Fire kit as a pre-order for $160 so I would assume it will be available soon.

I'm not one to get excited about paper ships but I'm looking forward to this.  Not sure if I'll ever get one but.....

Went ahead and put in my pre-order yesterday with Freetime Hobbies. For me the subject is too interesting to pass up... though when I actually get around to building it is another story! LOL!

They never even laid the keels, though 5 were originally ordered.  I think their spots in the shipyards were given to Iowa class BB's and Essex class carriers.  Even with the Iowas, two were never completed; we won WWII before they could finish and there was just no need of them afterwards.

Motorized? No, not that I am aware of.

Yeah, the USS Kentucky BB-66 and Illinois BB-65 were half-completed at the end of the Second World War. In 1956 the USS Wisconsion BB-54 collided with the destroyer USS Eaton. The bow of the Kentucky was removed and fitted to Wisconsion to replace the crumpled section. Kentucky and Illinois were later sent to the scrappers.
