I've apparantly missed the debate on PPP sandability. My opinion is that it is very sandable, if anything, could be argued it is too sandable/soft. But me, I like the sandability because it sands fast and I have little patience sanding putty. I just want it over with.

It is not being wet-sandable that bothers me a little.

Greg, the truck is 1/87 scale. I enjoy "frustrating" myself with itty bitty part's .... and it only get's worse when I cut open door's and add radiator hoses, and such.

Went back and refreshed my memory on your 1/17 pic of the bad fit. It is bad. You did a splendid job, IMO.

PS: I wish that I took an image of that fit before I worked on it all. It was Bad News Bears!

A quick perfect plastic putty comment, I like the stuff but I have to be real careful, I'm so used to dipping my sanding sticks in water......and you cannot wet sand PPP. To be honest, I'm not as trilled about it as I was at the start for this reason. But you can't have your cake and eat it too I guess.

More great progress Bakster.  Looks really good to me.  On the advice of Keyda81, I ordered some Perfect Plastic putty.  I will let you know how it goes.

Okay--the bottom plate is puttied, painted, and sealed.

How did it go? Well... not too bad I guess. I wouldn't win any contests I think. But--it is progress for me using the Tamiya putty.

I must say that I still prefer using CA. I find it easier, quicker, and I get better results. Using the Tamiya I had put on three coats, four in some areas and I still ended up with pinholes, seams, and dimples. Overall, it is not bad though. You don't see the issues except under magnification.

I want better than this though when using putty. If anyone has advice on how to deal with those minor issues when they come up--I am all ears. I couldn't seem to make them go away.

Below: How it looks finished. The bottom plate with the kit has a terrible fit. I posted an image on 1/17 of how it looked before I started to putty. What you don't know is that I did a lot of prior work. If you build this kit, plan to spend a lot of time sanding and shaping that piece.

Below: Not to my standard but it is a vast improvement from before. IMO.

Btw. I am glad that I sealed the sub in dullcote. Pretty sure that I would have made a mess of things with all the handling that I did.

From here... I will work on installing the fiber optics into the conning tower.

Hey Tim... thanks for taking the time to post these images. I love it! Nice work, and this is too funny. What is Mr Haney selling today? Cast iron piping? Or are those logs? Can't tell. And what's in the barrel?

I didn't just have computer issue's steve , I had to throw it out , it was dead .

That is a major bummer, Steve. I suppose it is hard to say what happened. I have seen it happen that a website is compromised by a computer virus. It once happened to me at work. The hard drive had to be completely replaced. IT tried to fix it but it was such a mess that they nixed the idea. Seeing that both you and Timmy had an issue around the same time makes me wonder. Maybe a coincidence though. 

Hearing what happened to you two inspired me to back up my images. I was laxing on that.

Did you get a brand new PC?

My poor dELL, with it's Window's XP , has finally reached the end of it's serviceable life.

As you can see, my cap's lock key is having some sort ov "Episode"

Way to go on the closure (the Seaview, not Green Acres). Using epoxy was probably a good idea.
