I don't know anything about building sailing ships but I would say you are off to a fine start by the looks of it.

Thanks--Marcus McBean, this one is much smaller than my other scratch built wooden ships--it's a reel chanenge--but I am enjoying it very much. My other models are on the old thred warshipguy started for me in July of 2012 titaled"sailing ships" Please look it up and vue it. But don't post to it--that pissess the people here off.
