How do you fill a pencil torch?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 23, 2003 10:12 PM
Well, I finally bought one of these things and I know you fill it with butane but it looks like you need to have some kind of pressurized contraption to fill it. The instructions were no help. Any ideas?

...and I was so looking forward to burning the *#@* out of myself this weekend too.Evil [}:)]

Buy a can of Butane at Walmart or even a convenience store. May or may not need an adaptor, probably not. Insert tip into fill valve on torch and press firmly (nozzle should be pointing down). A little gas (very cold) may escape. Only takes a few seconds to fill. Repeat process two to three times for a complete fill. Let torch sit for five minutes before trying to light so gas pressure can stabilize. One can of Butane will last quite a while. These things get very hot so be careful and be mindful of where you place it after it's off as the tip will stay hot for a little while.
