Paul Matt books
Posted by missileman2000 on Saturday, July 6, 2024 8:26 AM

Paul was a great draftsman.  Every month the magazine Model Airplane News would publish a set of 3views drawn by Matt, of a popular airplane. About twenmty years ago I learned that Paul had published a two volume book- a compendium  of many of his 3 views.  I managed to pick up copies of both volumes.

What a treasure!  Each volume contains 30 t0 40 highly detailed 3 views, plus extra draings of pertinent items like rigging fittings.  I considered that I was so lucky to have them-probably unobtainable now. Out of curiosity, though, I did a search and found that there are quite a number of used copies availabe, used of course, many on Amazon but others on eBay.  If you do any scratch building you should look into them.  Even if you do not scratch, these aree also good for checking the accuracy.  No modern aircraft, these were only done in 40s to maybe 1960 or so.
