Historians and preservationists have been working on old mills for many years and I've found a couple of drawings. I am just looking for as many examples as possible so that I can build a fairly accurate replica. Failing that I will use what is available to draw a set of plans for an "typical" wind driven mill and then build it at 1:24 scale to fit in with my other models at that scale. I plan to have a shipyard when I am done. I already have a fishing schooner, whaling brig and mortar boat illustrating boat-building methods. Ed

Got to thinking- didn't mechanical drawing get developed after 1800?  Also, same for photography.  So all you will be able to get will be sketches, woodcuts and engravings and such, at best.  You will have to convert these to mechanical drawing.
