Richard Stewart
Romsey, Hampshire, England
Richard built Airfix's 1/48 scale British Aircraft Corporation Tactical Strike/Reconnaissance 2 because "it's a very elegant machine and my late father-in-law devoted five years of his career to it." Richard enhanced the TSR-2 by scratchbuilding instrument panels, installing Airwaves photoetched-metal ejection seats, and opening the engine air ducts as well as the main gear doors to reveal interior detail. Richard says the markings "represent the only prototype that ever took to the air before the British government scrapped the project in 1965."
