I'm a U.S. Army officer stationed in the UK. One of the challenges in the armed forces is moving every 3 years. So achieving a permanent workspace is difficult. I generally have a mobile set-up, which I can put away quickly if I have to work on a shared table.
In this case, we had enough room for me to have my own table -- the house we rent has a converted attic, which made a great spot for a workspace. Although not always ideal when the sun through the skylight, it does allow for good natural light. And it can be a bit cold in winter.
My current work-in-progress is Academy's M60, which I'm building into a standard M60 stationed in Germany during the Cold War. You can also see part of my kit stash.
