“My Tamiya 1/72 scale Republic P-47D Thunderbolt is in British South East Asia Command colors because the British SEAC Thunderbolts played an important but overlooked role in World War II,” says Joseph. He added photoetched and scratchbuilt details in the cockpit, made brake lines from fine solder, and new gun barrels from stainless-steel tubing. Microscale and Aeromaster decals make up the markings. Joseph weathered with powdered pastel chalks and used a silver Prismacolor pencil for chipped paint.
