“The Harrier was a mythic airplane in my adolescent
imagination,” Alessandro says, explaining his motivation for building Italeri’s
1/72 scale GR.3. He superdetailed the ejection seat and cockpit walls as well
as the undercarriage. He also opened a camera window in the nose and installed
a piece of clear plastic, dropped the flaps, and modified the intakes with
scratchbuilt details made from styrene rod and sheet.
