Donald used Fujimi’s 1/24 Porsche 917K to represent the 1971 Le Mans winner driven by Helmut Marco and Gijs van Lennep. He lifted Fujimi’s engine in favor of a resin engine/rear frame kit from Historic Racing Miniatures. He also went with Model Factory Hiro tires and Studio 27 photoetched-metal seat belts, grilles, tie-downs, and window clamps. The car is painted with a combination of Testors enamel and Tamiya, Model Master, and Reaper Miniatures acrylics. Three coats of Model Master clear gloss lacquer finished Donald’s own endurance event.
