World War II aircraft and armor are the usual for Tom, but he thought he’d try something really out of this world when he took up MPC’s 1/9 scale Alien. He says, “I made the teeth and claws from stretched clear sprue. Steel-plate flooring is a piece of rigid vinyl with plastic yarn canvas for the grating. The creature’s drool is clear epoxy. Bondo automobile body putty fills the seams and gaps — lots of Bondo and many hours of sanding! Building this kit was a challenge and really helped me improve my modeling skills.”
