Darrick Leiker
Goodland, Kansas
Darrick painted Minicraft’s 1/144 scale G4M1 Betty with Tamiya aluminum and used masking solution as a paint-release agent to produce chipped paint. Post-shading the wings’ tops created a faded effect. Solder served as exhaust pipes’; they’re weathered with pastel chalks. The aerials are stretched sprue and wire from a copying machine. Darrick says, “I built this because I was in the middle of remodeling my house and needed something quick and small to work on in my limited spare time.”
