It’s not easy to find a Logan’s Run Sandman gun, so Mike made his own 1/1 scale model from plastic and PVC piping. He writes “The gun features details from the movie, TV, and book versions of the DS (Deep Sleep) weapon. The profile is from the movie version, with the grip angle coming from blueprints that appeared in an old issue of Starlog magazine. The trigger is from the TV version. In the book, the gun held six ammo cartridges, so I put the letter abbreviation of those charges on the setting knob at the rear of the ammo pack. The book Logan’s World indicated that the gun had a ‘golden glow’ when an ammo pack was inserted. For that effect, I put a light behind the belt clip/thumb guard, activated by the silver toggle switch near the front of the grip. The barrel light is a 12,000 mcd LED.” Two AA batteries inside the grip power the pistol.
