“I wanted to do something new and original with the kit,” Robert says of MPC’s 1/43 scale Star Wars X-wing fighter. He painted with Testors spray cans, layering the colors through hand-cut stencils. Black detail was sponged on; he applied U.S. Marine Corps decals from a different kit. He says, “The model went through five different iterations before I settled on what I have. It’s definitely not as good as some of the kits I’ve seen — it could’ve been a lot better — but it’s one of the first models I’ve built in 30 years.”
