Lead ship of its class, HMS Roberts fought in Operation Torch (North Africa), Operation Husky (Sicily), Operation Avalanche (Salerno), and was stationed off Sword Beach during the D-Day landings. Don built Trumpeter’s 1/350 scale kit of the Royal Navy monitor, braving the sometimes gossamer-fine photo-etched details. He painted mostly with Testors Model Master enamels.
