I received Academy's 1/72 scale Fieseler Fi 156 Storch for Christmas.
I decided to take it and some equipment up to the cabin where we were staying in the Blue mountains for the summer holidays. I whittled through it in 3 days, and, as that particular plane was stationed on the Eastern Front, I surmised that it must have had a whitewash, so I used watery white paint painted on thinly over normal dunkelgrun, then sanded very lightly with a 1000 grit sanding stick.
It was built out of the box. The canopy was molded out of six clear parts, and I had a bad time trying to get them together neatly, as the fit was rather poor.
