Douglas built his Academy 1/350 scale Cutty Sark straight out of the box. He painted with Vallejo acrylics using a combination of airbrushing and hand-brushing to get it just right. To give the sails a weather-beaten appearance, Douglas blended shades of white and tan with an airbrush. After noticing that the molded flags at the top of the mast were out of scale and lacked decals, Douglas cut them off for a cleaner look.
