Roland Addad
San Francisco, California
Roland took Monogram’s 1/8 scale Big T hot rod he and his brother built years ago and turned it into a rat-rod truck with a teardrop trailer. Completed late in 2022, the build took six years, and he hopes it pays homage to Monogram’s original kit. The entire model is 32 inches long.
Roland plumbed and wired the engine, transmission, and undercarriage and scratchbuilt the chassis and rear suspension. It sits atop a Z’d frame and sports completely new brake and steering components. Even the dual slicks have scribed tread. The scratchbuilt teardrop trailer has a working door and rear deck. Roland used Tamiya paints and finished off the model with custom decals he designed and had Bedlam Creations printed. Stuart Go photographed the model.
