Robert converted an Estes flying rocket nosecone into a 1950s sci-fi spacecraft that landed on a "Strange World." The fins are made from styrene sheet and tubing with tips from ballpoint pens. An aluminum tube and wood-plug landing gear hold the craft above the surface. He used chrome and gold Rust-Oleum spray paint on the vehicle and filled drilled 'portholes' with Microscale Micro Kristal Klear. The alien planet is Styrofoam coated with drywall spackle, and the strange spires are Durham's Water Putty over foam chunks. After drying, Robert carved and filed strata. Hardened bits of water putty became more rocks. The groundwork was painted with dark brown acrylic paint and dry-brushed khaki tan.
