Jim calls this diorama “Panzer Breakout,” and he built it from a Tamiya 1/35 Panzer Kampfwagen IV and Tamiya 1/35 German Panzer Grenadiers. The buildings and ruins are from Dioramas Plus. He made the bases for the diorama from scrap ceramic floor tiles, cut to size and covered with debris and dirt from his yard. Painted talus from Woodland Scenics created the crushed brick, and Jim made kitty litter into concrete rubble. He used craft sticks to create destroyed and burnt floor joists. Jim painted and finished the model using Vallejo spray paints, brushed paints, washes, and powders, and he weathered steel items with graphite powder.
