After seeing the Millennium Falcon fly between the teeth of a space slug (technically known as an exogorth) in The Empire Strikes Back and later seeing the Falcon attached to the side of an Imperial Star Destroyer, Mike realized the scale of this scene was possible. He built Bandai's 1/5000 scale Star Destroyer kit straight from the box, adding 15 LEDs to light the interior and engines. The slug is a latex puppet that Mike was able to modify with paint around the mouth and reinforced the interior with packing foam, plastic, and an aluminum bar. The base is a Zulux moon lamp with a jagged hole cut in the top and a few rocks attached.
