Mike modified the Moebius Models 1/32 scale Fantastic Voyage Proteus kit with Jimmy Flintstone figures and Voodoo FX lighting. Mike added scratchbuilt paneling, piping, and the winch bar (used later in the movie by Dr. Michaels to knock out the captain). A faucet, stool, desk lamp and magnifier were also added along with storage graphics. He hid the 9-volt battery for the lights in the airlock tucked the on/off switch inside the engine intake. “I cut open a pedestal stand to make a capillary diorama,” Mike says. The “cell graphics were designed in CorelDraw and then covered with a carefully bent cracked ice ceiling light panel to give the cell walls texture.”
