Not able to see full posts
Posted by DM1975 on Saturday, March 27, 2021 10:35 PM

Some members on here seem to have all of their posts cropped out on the right side of the post. it makes it impossible to read their posts as half of what they say is cropped out. It's not every membera posts either, just some of them. Is this a common issue with everyone or just me?

I think its caused by the size of images in peoples sig's. I see the same issue, it also cuts out the reply button under the persons post. But i am not sure if its also down to the settings on individual computers. For me, i find it more of an issue on my work comouter than i do on my own laptop.

I only have my phone to use. That's where I'm having the issues.

I guess my question is will there likely be anything done about it? It seems a lot of issues on here are persistent even after multiple complaints.

If it happens on some systems and not others, thyen i would guess its nothing to do with FSM's set up. I thinks its a combination of what device your useing and how individuals have set up their signature.

Well if it's happening on my iphone then there isn't any "setting up" anything for me. And I have the signatures turned off and it still does it so.....

Im gonna go out on a limb and say it's a software issue. If not that then it's some kind of setting on the forums end that is messed up. Either way with the world veering more and more to phones and tablets you think they would care that it works properly on them or not.

What kind of phone are you using? I just brought up the FSM website on my Samsung Android phone and my phone is not experiencing the problems that you mentioned.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

Again it's an IPhone. But not everyones posts appear this way. Pull up the recent post in the general discussion on weathering. The last few posts where they are talking about ordering chalk or pastels on Amazon. I know I see it in those posts for sure.

I see it too on that thread you referenced, and I have a Motorola Android.  I rarely use my phone for internet stuff, but your squawk is confirmed on Android as well.

Thank you.

I may not have minded other than the fact that I've seen a couple members this effects that I really am interested in leaning from what they have posted.

I hear ya.  There doesn't even seem to be a way of scrolling over when you run across a post like that either.  Seems to be lengthy URLs that cause the problem.

Yes, you are right! I wonder if it occurs only when you cut and paste a url in? I know I've seen posts with links in them before that are 100% visible, but maybe that's because they actually posted the link with the editor maybe?

Now that I think about it, I started just copying and pasting URLs and manually adding the BB code to make them links a while ago.  I started doing that because the "insert/edit link" button in the editor had some really strange behavior on several occasions in the past...even on a PC-based Chrome browser.  Maybe that's what's going on.
