Has anyone heard from Toshi?
Posted by Dodgy on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 4:47 AM

Hi folks, I havn't seen any posts from Toshi for a while, so I private messaged him, but have received no reply. I was just wondering if he's ok and whether anyone else has had contact.

Nope, I really hope him and the family are okay. Didn't he say Mrs. Toshi was doing a lot better?

It's been three months since we pm'd. His life certainly has it's complications. The last I heard was the news that Ezra has a new little brother. his daughter and Ezra were moving somewhere.

I'll drop him a line this morning.

Thanks Bill. I have no other way of getting in touch and I'm a little worried.

Double ribbed to work the West Coast of Tasmania, (some of the nastiest waters in the world). She's an old cray boat that I have had a cabin and other facilities built on. Hi Mawright20. It seems as if no-one has heard from our mate. I have his postal address and will write, but as I'm in Aussie, it might take some time to get a reply.

Hi;

     The reason I picked up on that is I lived on three different boats after I retired. The First was someone's Idea of a " Custom" job on a Pontoon Boat-40' 60 Horse Volvo with Outdrive.. The next was a 42'-Ocean Certified " River Queen" Twin 440 Marinized Chryslers with Dana Outdrives. built here in the U.S. in the State of Louisiana.  The last a 110' Retired Coast Guard Bouy Tender With a Wartsilla 2200Hp Diesel and Volvo 200 hp. gen set!. Besides Living aboard her I also used her as a Command Boat in Salvage work in the rivers.

     I have to say in all honesty, those were the happiest Years of my Life. All three were good solid watercraft.They were the "Buttercup'(No I didn't name her-the Pontoon Boat) The River Queen was the "Marie Antionette" Named by her original owner. lastly the "Bramble" ( all Coast Guard Bouy Tenders were named after a Bush,Thereby, their Class name. I followed an old Family rule. Once Christened,you Do NOT change a vessel's name-It brings bad luck. That's what my Grandpapa told me. He was a 35 yr on the job Tuna Fisherman( Before Processing and Catch vessels came along.)

    His Boat was the ' Suzy Q'. Uncle Joseph's boat was "the Santa Catalina" ( Like the Island.)  Uncle Mike's boat was the " Stormtreader". I once owned a 1934-42' Friendship Sloop.( My only time under Sail only, She didn't even have auxiliary power) I have always loved being around or in the water, even working on the Tuna boats was fun for me. The Best part? Having a pint after a good catch.  We were and Are Sicilians But, we loved a loved a pint of Stout after a voyage. Grandpa called us traitors, His was home-made wine!
