Atlantis and Model Pre-Orders
Posted by Tanker-Builder on Saturday, May 8, 2021 8:11 AM

Okay, Question;

     Has anyone bought any model or tool this way? This is my first time and I was wondering if it's a safe thing to do. Did the subject arrive or get delayed til you asked for your money back? I know they said my account wouldn't be accessed till it was ready to ship.

I don't need to be the first one to have a new release as soon as it comes out,so no,I don't usually pre order stuff.But I guess your results would depend on the reliability of the seller.

Hi;

 Well; I don't usually do this either. I promised myself a 57-8 Cadillac  Eldorado Brougham when I turned 78. Well that's on the eleventh. In model form only ( this seems the only way). I wish I could find and afford a fully restored one, Rear suicide doors and all. Especially in Daytona Red.

You might see if your local Hobby Lobby would order it for you.  HL carries Atlantis kits.

The one time I did it...with the rerelease of the old Revell box scale P-3A Orion...it shipped right on time.

I'm signed up to get their e-mails, and they seem to update the pending releases schedule an average of twice a week. I wouldn't worry, since their communication seems so good, and they seem to be on top of things.

Scalehobbyist was able to get the Atlantis Allison turboprop kit for me after I asked them to. Send them an email.

i don't pre-order models but i suppose if you have a vendor you trust it's worth doing.

But I would never do so with a Russian, Ukrainian or Chinese seller. I've heard to many bad stories.

I do pre-order wine from a group of wine clubs, and reliability really varies from winery to winery.
