Thank Your All
Posted by goldhammer88 on Sunday, April 10, 2022 4:44 PM

I have enjoyed the past seven years on this forum immensely.  But the time has come to pretty much depart, though I will still lurk and toss in a comment now and again.

The entire stash, both unbuilt and partial starts, has been split between two fellow forum members, and I won't divulge who.  That will be up to them.  Told them to do as they see fit with the whole load, build, dispose of, or toss in the closest dumpster..

While I've kept 5-6, I just hope to get built.  If so, will post up the finished item, if I'm satisfied with it

I'm withdrawing from all of the GB's I committed to, and offer my humble thanks to the hosts, and for the great builds I saw come out of them.  I also give my sincerest apologies to everyone that was thinking and supporting me to finish.

My health and abilities have fallen off a cliff in the last few months, and the friends dealing with my stuff when I pass would just have tossed them out.

Thank you for helping me keep my sanity through the loss of two ladies in the last seven years.  You are some of the greatest people I'll never meet.

Sorry to hear this news GH. In my humble opinion you are one of the best builders on this Forum and also one of the nicest guys on here. I'll be looking forward to seeing those 5 or 6 models show up either when you're working on them or they are completed builds. Take care.

If nothing else, your experience and expertise is an invaluable tool for the rest of us. Lurk often and please share your advise and help us where you can. Building may be difficult, but passing on what you know is easy. Stick around as much as you can and make us all better for it. Thank you my friend.

Take care goldhammer. Your knoledge can be passed on to the younger crowd. I truely believe they can benefit from it. You are a fantastic modeler and I will argue with anybody about that. Wish you all the best in the future. Take care of yourself and hope to see you on here more. Best wishes to you and your family.

Take care my friend, you're are a good mate. Please continue to encourage and teach. I completely understand your position and would do the same. Better to move the kits on than know they'll end up in the landfill. We will all be in that position at some point, It's inevitable. You're one of the lucky ones who can pass them on and bless others with your collection.

You still have time, now you can relax without concerns regarding the hobby. Sit back, read, post and enjoy.

Fair winds my friend and I expected to see you here for some time to come.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Take care, mate - all the best.

Agreed! We need you. If you are able, please stick around. You don't have to build in order to be with us.

Whatever you decide, take care of yourself, GH. Thanks for all the good advice and support that you have given me. God bless.

I understand that decisions like yours will eventually come to everyone here. Still it is sad to hear that your leaving the model building phase of the hobby. I sure hope you can stay around to share your experience and fellowship with the rest of us.

Kudo's to you for getting the remaining model inventory into the hands of builders and not just throwing them out.

I still will look forward to you lurking around and provide your input in the forum. After saying that, I would totally understand if you cut out and focus on something all together different, though I hope that is not the case. Take care and hope to see your remarks in the forum in the future.

GH sorry to hear about the challenges and totally understandable that you decided changes need to be made. Thanks for generously sharing advice, techniques and experience on the forums over the years. We wish you well and hopefully you can still gain some enjoyment through the forums.

GH, I'm saddened to read this!  As a fellow collision repair guy, and fellow modeler, Ive always looked forward to your builds and perspective on car related stuff.  I, myself don't post much on these forums, as the site isn't very mobile friendl, but I've been lurking, and checking in on the Secter Santa Group build, waiting to see your results with that kit....I was that secret Santa....and excited to see the magic.

regardless, I do hope your health improves!  But I do understand your concerns about that expiration date we all carry, I just hope it's not too soon.  If you're on Facebook and need/want to chat, you can find me there-Justin Ryan-

Thanks to all who have replied.  It is appreciated.

JR, I'm sorry to disappoint you, along with the other SS's, but those kits and gifts are in good hands and will eventually be done in a manner befitting the time and thought that went into them.

As to the totally untrue kudo's on the few completed builds I did put up, most everything I learned, was from fellow members here, and some 1:1 stuff from the collision trade.

Best wishes for you GH.  I will miss seeing your progress builds but understand fully on what you are facing and what you have to do.  Its a good thing you are being proactive with reality.  Many of us need to take heed to what you are doing as we get on in life.
