A Few Questions about MCW Paints
Posted by cbaltrin on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 8:05 PM
  1. I understand these are airbrush ready enamels.. so how do they brush paint
  2. why are some paints listed witn a primer, sealer and cement option? That's odd, the cement option at least...
  3. Anyone know why some colors stock number ends in 'E'.  For example, Go Mango, is listed twice as 7056 and 7056E, with different price?

TIA

The -E paints are enamel.  Those lacking the E are lacquer.  That is my understanding of their system.

I've been thinking about giving some of their colors a shot. My understanding is that you have to use thier hardener to get them to set up and that they are closer to automotive paints than hobby paints. From what I've seen they are well loved by those that use them.

They have a military line too. I bought a couple of bottles of the gloss sea blue to replace the two Model Master enamels that went bad. Haven't tried them yet but should work the same as Model Master.

I would treat their enamels just like the dropped MM line for thinning etc.

There are several excellent videos on Youtube about this paint. Here is a very good review:
