I went a little nuts at an IPMS Show in Dayton.

Which one to build next?  I'm thinking Wildcat.

Bish I love the Fujimi Phantoms. Remember building quite a few as a teenager. Now I wish I could find some affordable Fujimi Skyhawks

Are they good kits. I had been looking for some Brit ones but then i noticed Airfix are releaseing an FG.1 and hopfuly with follow with an FGR.2.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

WOW! Some very nice acquisitions, gentlemen! I really like what I see!

And I have to say, what a great idea for a thread! Bravo, Tojo!

Here are my latest:

And this one that I won at my first day as a member of the Cincinnati Scale Modelers Club:

I do have one more on the way, and I'll post a picture once it arrives.

And I forgot about this one:

The Wildcat is a gorgeous kit. The Dragon Benson is also very nice.

I just picked up the Takom Flak43 for $24. It will make one heck of a display piece.

My one experience with a Takom kit was very positive.  Hogfan, your King Tiger should be a great build, and PlasticJunkie, the Flak 43 will make a great display piece.  Artillery is always great to see.  I also like that Tamiya Gloster Meteor.

Keyda-  Nice score on the N.F. Phantom.  Not seen that one before.

I knew it exsisted, but never thought I'd come across it just sitting at the local hobby shop in the corner behind the slot car track!  I had already bought the Delta, and I was just chit chatting with the guys running the slot cars, and my eyeballs zeroed in on it, lol.  No desicion making there, she came home with me.

Last 2 I picked up a few weeks ago.  Wasn't even planning on buying any kits, but how can you not when you walk into the hobby shop for a few jars of paint!

I was just going to walk out with this one but.......

I seen this one hiding in the corner and couldn't pass it up, considering it says Niagara Falls right on it, and that's where I'm from.

Those are old molds but have spectacular molded details specially in the pits. The 102 looks fast just sitting there.  The Phantom has some fit issueas with the intake side plates but some TLC and careful sanding and fitting takes care of the issue.

Something is my bucket list as a Phantomholic is to get a couple of British Phantoms.

I seem to have been getting all patriotic lately and finding myself wanting to build British aircraft. I deffinetly want to do an RAF Phantom and am looking forward to the Kinetic C-17.

im not home now but check reviews on that Kinetic kit. I know that their F16s are a PITA to work on, lots of great detail but tons of fit problems.

Ye, i have heard they have problems. I'll see what the reviews say once its out, but it may well be the only option we get in plastic.

OK, Bish, when you mention that you are going to build a spit, then I will question your health. Wink Otherwise, I'll look forward to your "patriotic" builds! Big Smile

@ridleusmc, you have me looking for a 1/48 CH-46 or 47 now! I really like the look of that kit!

Not that i could find, only Fujimi. But if they did, i am guessing they will be a bit old by now. The way Airfix have been going, i will be more than happy to wait for their's.

This afternoon's aquisition.

The pit will need a bit-o-detailing.  If I get ambitious, I might try a scratch wing fold.

Might not be this year - there are alot of partially built kits on the table now.

I have been trying to get hold of that. Hannants sold out just as i was about to place an order and the ones on e-bay have silly shipping. I am hoping it will be back in soon as i plan on building it for the Midway GB.

Most of you that know me, have known that I only build armor. No more. I've tired of the 500 plus piece kits and have sold off my more complex kits. I just don't have the time or patience. I'm slowly integrating aircraft. I've always liked Japanese aircraft, probably because they are so asthetically pleasing. So I've added 4 aircraft kits to make 7 in the stash with one under construction. Big learning curve, but I'm up to it. I've got a mix of newer and older. I'm not going to drop big bucks if I decide this isn't for me. LOL

Hi Bish,

If you can find the Hasegawa Avenger kit - I would recommend that over this Academy kit.

I built the Hasegawa kit about 10 years ago (or more).  It was a very nicely detailed kit that went together very well.  It is hard to come by though.

I think this Avenger is an older Academy kit - so the details aren't on par with Academy's more recent offerings - or the Hasegawa kit.

Thanks for the info, i will look a bit harder, but seems hard to get hold of. I think the Academy is from 87 and what i read said it was not brilliant. But if it comes to it, i will settle for the Academy, i can get a PE set for the bit so that might help a bt.

The Otaki kits are older, but much cheaper. Pretty good detailing and decals. I have 3 other Hasegawa kits, and they are more detailed, but more expensive. I'm going to work on the Otaki kits first and hone my skills before I tackle the Hase kits
