Wow, Ben. That is a significant haul. Love those 1/18 diecast, I have several. I used to be a dealer for Ertl and Autoart as well as Supercar Collectibles when diecast was all the rage. I love that big Sherman and I would love to get one along with the Tiger I. Looking forward to seeing those.

Been a while since I posted new stuff so I hope I don't duplicate anything, but here goes:

DIE-CAST VEHICLES 1/18

I have Ferrari decals for the truck sides will be scratchbuilding details, it's B-I-G
Image

1970 Chevy Nova, nice detailed engine
Image

By Minichamps. Many decals were almost gone and mirrors missing, all fixed now
Image

PLASTIC KITS

Post

1/20 Brabham fan car, always wanted one of theseImage

1/48 Horton Ho-229, has great details but heard it is a bear to build, we will see

I think I mentioned this some time ago but never left a photo, here it is:

Image

THE ODD BALL TO BE DETAILED

1/18 Dodge command truck, thinking about my SAS jeep I will detail/rebuild this one too
Image

THE BIG ONE 1/16

This was my big Christmas present for Jarrod and I. Can't wait to get into it.

Got a good price on this one.  Extra goodies on the way

Nice kit. I've built two now. Did you order a new float? Cuz, the kit float is WAY off.

I'm looking at the Dragon Wing as well. But what are the shipping costs? I'm in the UK, I presume it's a small packet? It's  very difficult to work out shipping!

I've just checked and it's the same price as the kit so I cancelled the order!

Pat: The shipping costs for my Dragon Wing were about $60 US- I think that's about 40 UK (my keyboard doesn't have a pound key). That's for the whole order though. The Pagani was about $30 on HLJ but normally sells in the US for about $70. So I make up an order about once or twice a year and I think I end up saving enough on costs to make up for shipping.

Those are awesome guys!!!

SP: I hope the Tamiya Comet is easier to build than the Bronco kit. I liked how mine came out but it was a bit of bear to build.

Aggie, that Thunderstreak Thunderbird a new release of an older mold kit, so there is no way you ever built it before. But I'm with you on wanting to build one soon Wink

Had to go to the town where I grew up a couple days ago to knock out a couple of stones - visit some family and my dentist, who coincidentally is family as well.  Left my office in Houston and drove an hour south, got there too early so I stopped at a Hobby Lobby.  I don't get back to my home town often, but am always amazed at the shopping options that have sprung up there in the years since I left for Texas A&M in the mid-80s.  In any event, I walked out of the HL with a couple of purchases, a Vallejo paint set for US Army Air Corps China-Burma-India colors, as well as this kit

I'm 99% certain I never built this kit as a youngster.  The F-84 was always my favorite as a Thunderbird jet.  I'll likely build this one alongside my Hobby Boss release some day.

Over the last several months I bought many many new kits, mostly 1/35 armor and 1/48 aircraft. These would fill the pages and bore you. I'm removing kits that are being replaced or just getting rid of ones I know I'll never build. Time for a stash cleaning/replacing. Actually, although I purchased several new ones, they're replacing possably double that what I'm losing.

I will however, show three that I received this month.

For my birthday, my gal bought me this. She got it for a gag but I told her that I actually liked it.

Next for Christmas she got me this one. Again, very happy to receive it

and for my secret Santa gift I got this. I love between the war A/C

Those are great kits, Steve. She has a good eye. That Mando kit is great. You'll love working on it.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Nice scores guys!

My new scores came in yesterday in no particular order. First up is the new Tamiya A-34 Comet. I had placed a pre order with Brookhurst Hobbies a couple months ago for this kit then heard nothing and started to wonder. Then I found out that they had gotten the kits in and not contacted me regarding my pre order, so I contacted them and got the problem straightened out. I am quite happy to have gotten the screw up corrected and the kit sent to me at the pre order price.

Then I found this decal set for Korean War AD Skyraider. It has markings for an AD-3 from VA-35, USS Leyte Air Wing in Korea 1950/1951. After seeing Devotion and reading about the USN strikes at the Yalu River bridges, it was a natural inspiration to get this set.

The rest of my order from HLJ came in today.

I was waiting on this. Suyata kits seem to be really hard to get your hands on. I've wanted the kit Real G showed a few years ago and it never seems to come back into stock.

I ordered a few more things to fill out the order. HLJ was having a special reduced shipping sale for Christmas so that did help out some.

Robot dogs with assualt rifles and a robo-cat that can turn into a motorcycle. What could be cooler???

Picked up the cool VW as something for for either our show raffle donation or a Christmas present for next year:

Not sure if I'll build the Pagani or not. The kit is insanely complex from looking at the instructions. I may toss it into the club raffle next year:

wow the beaufort and f-35!  Nice

I forgot to post my books

Oh, you got the Monogram book. I've been eyeing that for months now. Let us know how it is.

BK

It's really nice.  Super heavy paper and great prints.  A bit more fun than the boxart book because there's way more context.

Thanks,

John

My Christmas haul

I am going to attempt to install lighting into the Super Star Destroyer and the Rebel Blockade Runner, but both are so tiny that I'm not sure that will be possible.  The SSD is 1/100000 and the RBR is 1/1000.

I'm totally jelly of all those, especially the blockade runner. Curious just how big those are and the lighting would be super cool.
BK

The Blockade Runner looks like it will be about 4-5" long.  SSD won't be much bigger.

And I got my wife a kit, which she has finished

The kit was missing Astro.  I have a note out to Round2 for a replacement Astro

It's a QUICK snap-tite build - I think it looks awesome

Oh my gosh, that is soo cool. I like this a lot.
