Bish, that is a great score! I’m glad that you are one kit closer to completing your project.

Keav & Knox, those are some nice bikes! Beautiful kits!

And for me, yesterday was our monthly AMPS Chapter meeting. And it’s pretty rare that I walk away from there empty handed... raffles, guys thinning out their stashes, the pre and post meeting visit to Brookhurst Hobbies... This month one of the the guys was selling Tamiya Gama Goats that he had picked up on clearance at Hobby Lobby- thank you Robert!

and then our own Duke Maddog was selling off items that were in his IPMS Mystery Box from last months fundraising auction that were not in his preferred Braille Scale, so this fine new tool new release Airfix 1/48 P-51D is now mine...

Hey Knox, I have the all red 1199. I highly recommend the tamiya detail up set.  Turned anodized forks are beauties.

Thanks,

John

A purchase from my FLHS for a group build later this year.  It looks like a fun kit.

I was curious about the Stirling landing gear so did a little googling and it turns out that the plane originally had longer wings, but had to be trimmed back to 100' to fit in the hangers.  This increased the length needed to take off, so they added 3 degrees of incidence to the wing by raising the length of the landing gear.

Now, my problem is I can't stop buying these awesome Tamiya motorcycle kits and the TopStudio addons are really nice.

Thanks,

John

Steve, i agree. I never had the old Airfix one, but the box art always looked rather odd, almost as though it wasn't real sitting so high up. I would have liked a Mk III as there are AM decals that would fit what i need and knowing my luck, Airfix will anounce a new tooled one next year lol. But this will do and the markings are easy enough.

Nice Bish.

I always thought the Stirling was a strange looking AC with that canopy sticking up like it does and it's tall stance when sitting on it's feet.

The old Airfix one was the first bomber I built.

Just got the kit for airfield 34 out of 37 in my Norfolk airfields project and this makes al 3 of the RAF's 4 engined heavies. Nice looking kit but i will have to put together my own decals for the airecraft codes.

John: Cool score. I really am starting to like the lines of these Lightening II's. I didn't at first but they're starting to grow on me.

Clemens: Very good line up of armor kits and goodies!

Goldhammer: Wow man! Hit on a little bit of everything with that score!!

I did just trim my stash down about 50% but some kits fall into the "Holy Grail" category and this is one of em for me. I have always wanted one of these in the 1:1 scale world and hopefully I'll get my chance to own one some day but until then this one right here is going to have to do. lol

Got this a few days ago:

Our club got a members stash to sell off for the club treasury, and did rather well with it.  Lots of kits leftover and the board decided to have a give-away to the members, with the provision that they be build rather than sold, traded, or stashed.  Got these 4 a couple of weeks ago.  Anything left after 2 meetings will go to a meet in Sept.

Box has been through it, but parts are still bagged and un-opened.

This one is a partial start, wings and stabs glued.

1977 Hawk XP  version of the 172, floats and landing gear.  Still sealed in the box, 1/48

Last but not least is the best of the best (IMO), a Williams Bros. GEE BEE "Z", 1/32.  Box opened, but all parts still bagged.

Thanks guys!

Bish, to be honest, I probably could build an entire division by now with all the German WW2 armor in my stash...

Cliff, I prefer the look of WW2 armor, but some modern stuff is a nice change. The Wiesel is a pretty old kit, but apart from the awful vinyl tracks it looks decent. It could be better, but it could also be a lot worse. The Voyager PE and some new tracks should improve it a lot.

Stik: It's hard to believe, but that AGDUS set was actually almost as much as the Tamiya Leo 2...

Nice stuff guys but wow Clemens!!! Love the modern stuff, I've been getting more interested in it after doing almost all Second World War subjects for the longest time.

Really interested in the Wiesel, I've seen the kit around but don't think I've ever seen it built.

Steve, it was a good score actually, there were no other bidders and i got it for £12. Not far off, i have the 5 British versions that Airfix have done, Gr.1, 3 and 9 and both Seaharriers, i think that will be enough Big Smile

Bish, nice score on the Harrier. You should be close to having all the versions, yes?

SS, those look like fun. I've been wanting to try a Takom kit.

I got a bunch of boxes delivered yesterday with lots of nice things inside:

The King Tiger is by far my favorite tank ever built and I really like the look of the prototype with those big Tiger I exhaust stacks. That alone was reason enough for me to get this one:

Next up is a Wiesel. I still can't get over how tiny this thing is:

I also got me some upgrades for my Leopard 2 (and a random bag of MG 34 barrel tips):

This AGDUS setup isn't entirely correct for a Bundeswehr Leopard 2A6, but it's the only game in town, which means it'll have to do.

My HLJ order also arrived:

And finally, this was a complete impulse purchase, but I got a good deal on it and it looks like a decent kit:

I went back to HL today and scored these

My Hobby Lobby had three of the F4U-1 on sale.... and I almost grabbed them too.

But my buget was limited this time. If there still there when I get back, I'm grabbing them !

Nice score Littletimmy.

I went back to HL today and scored these. There were a couple of dragsters on sale but didn't get them this time.

Forgive the terrible lighting in my room.

The last kits I've picked up ...

Trumpeter's 1/32 F6F-3 Hellcat, got on a good sale from one of the online shops, likely Squadron

Tamiya's 1/48 Dewoitine D.520 via eBay, had always wanted a French warbirds in my display cabinet but had never gotten around to acquiring this one

Tamiya's new 1/48 Bf109 G-6, got at my local LHS

Wing nut Wing's 1/32 Sopwith Camel direct from WNW

Monogram's ancient blue box 2 pylon racers, a Bearcat and a Mustang with a cardboard red-and-white racing pylon, found on eBay, had always wanted that one as a kid but don't recall ever getting it

Monogram's similarly ancient Connie in an early 1970s box, also via eBay

Bronco's P-40C in Flying Tigers scheme, 1/48, from Lucky Models, I am a sucker for P-40s

I had tried building a 21st Century Toys 1/32 Mc.202 Folgore earlier this year, but the kit was utter dog poop, so I scrapped it (using it now as a painting test platform). But I still wanted to do a Folgore, so I acquired one via eBay. It is the 1/48 Hasegawa kit, which I built many years ago (that build was lost in a shelving disaster). As it so happened, there was a link - people who bought this item also bought ... and lo and behold there was another 1/48 Italian fighter, Tamiya's Mc.200 Saetta (reboxing of an Italeri mold I believe). It was a decent price, I'd never built one, so now it is in my stash.

I have also picked up Montex Masks for my Do 335, Ki-84, and He 115 already completed this year, as well as for my upcoming builds of a Bv 141, Do 215, B5N2, and D3A1.

So a week ago, I was in hobby lobby. No kit's on sale but I did get some scenery supply's that were on sale. I went back today to "Clean them out" of scenery supply's  and this was all that was left...

But wait ! It get's better ! Lo-and-behold there were DOZEN'S of kit's on sale !

So then this happened...

I now have triple's of everything, except the Ecto-1

I "WILL" be going back to see what's left next week. It's a 100 mile round trip so I cant get there as often as I would like.

( Like I need three of anything..... I havent built the first one of anything ! )

I handn't intended on buying anything when I went into Hobby Lobby yesterday but the deals were so good I couldn't pass them up.   got $112.00 worth of stuff for $30!  the 2 air brush nozzles alone were $13 each.

John

Stopped at the other Hobby lobby on the way out of town and got these 2 at a extreme discount.

About 75% off the original price.
