Cool video.   I'll have to spruce up the ejection seats for sure on this trainer version.

Very cool Turcano. I was just doing some research on the Brazilian COIN version. A nifty little ground attack aircraft with a heck of a punch. The USA bought a bunch of them for the Afgan Air Force. Here's a video of live fire training. https://youtu.be/LkgeladdlaI

Don't you hate it when they do that.

Wass in the LHS a couple of weeks back and happened to have the Mrs in tow and she saw another boxing of this, with the poppies on it. She seemed to like the look of it and i have a feeling i might be getting that for my birthday this year. So will be looking forwardto seeing how it builds.

Went to my LHS for some super glue and this jumped off the shelf and grabbed onto me and wouldn't let go until I paid for it!    I need help!

Guys, if you live within driving distance of the shop, go to their website and sign up for their email newsletter.

No, I have no vested interest in the shop aside from being a happy customer supporting a brick and mortar shop and wanting it to survive.

Keav, nice score with the Hasegawa Phantom. I’m sure more of those will pop up secondhand now that they have been eclipsed by the ZM and Academy kits.

Schatten, that’s a good pair of tanks that you picked up. JGSDF Armor is something you rarely see built. The net I picked up looks like it has great potential. I just need to paint some colors on it first, to make it match the ones that I am familiar with.

Well, this weekend, on LHS, Brookhurst Hobbies, is celebrating 50 years in business. Pretty impressive in this age and industry if you ask me. They are having a sale of buy one item and any item of equal or lesser value is 50% off. So I had to stop on by. Now I literally have enough kits in my stash to last a lifetime, so I picked up what I needed most, some paints and accessories. I grabbed a couple Tamiya colors in the 10ml bottles, and these resin stowage items for my 1/35 armor... you can never have enough of these...

Dang it I didn't know Brookhurst was having that sale. Argh. Damn. Oh well. Sounds like a hell of a deal Stck. I'm glad you got to stock up!

That Type 10 is a really nice kit. Bought one a few years ago and it just looks great in the box, typical Tamiya engineering.

SP: I remember ads for Brookhurst Hobby in FSM back when I first started reading it around '86-'87. Great to hear they're still around!

Congratulations Brookhurst!  One of my favorite hobbyshops.  I'm going to check out their site.

Stick - had I known, I would have looked at the other phantoms.  I just recall enjoying that build AND it's a hasegawa kit with a full set of ordnance!  I have sparrows to spare ;)

Thanks,

John

I just placed an order on HobbyLink Japan for some Tamiya kits:

The Leopard 2 is for one of my upcoming projects and the Type 10 was somewhat of an impulse purchase. I really like the way the Type 10 looks and the kit was really affordable on HLJ. Plus, it's a modern Tamiya kit, those are always a blast to build.

Built this one a while back but it met its shadow.  Looking forward to building this one again.

Wow, built this kit back, gosh maybe twenty-five years ago??? I still have most of it in a spare parts box of old models. Looking forward to seeing what you do with her.

Stik, that camo net looks very interesting. How is it?

Keav, that Phantom boxart is easily one of the best ones I've ever seen. The box alone kinda makes you want to buy it Smile

Stick, nice set of AM there.

PPP, nice, I had a real artillery Luger at one time. It keep jamming and it wasn't very accurate, but it was cool. I sold it for a nice price if I recall. I also had a KR98, now that was accurate.

Bish, a Falkland's War GB sounds fun. I have plenty of time to prepare.

Ye, loads of time, i still have a couple of kits to get as i already know what i want to do for it.

A Falkland's War GB sounds like a great idea you can count me in.

Well, keep it in the back of your mind. I like to plan well ahead Big Smile

Bish, the Italian Jerry cans are nearly identical to the German cans. The stamping pattern is the same shape and roughly the same size. They just have the “RE” marking in the center on one side. Just like how the British version of the can only differs in small details.

The Falklands was the GR.3’s moment to shine. I look forward to seeing you build it.

Cheers for the info, i have not come across those before.

I plan on doing the Harrier in a few years, 2022 being the 40th Anniversary seems l;ike a good excuse for a GB Wink

Ye, there is not a lot of difference Stik. Main reason i got the 3 is so i can do one from the Falklands campaign.

Nice seloection you have there, those jerry cans look the same at the Germans one, i take it they were copied from the Germans but with Italian markings.

Well, the differences between the Harrier GR.1 and GR.3 are minimal. The GR.3 has the radar warning receiver added to the tail, and the laser marked target seeker in the nose. Otherwise the airframes are the same.

Well, no new kits for me, per se...  but I have been picking up some accessories: Italian Jerry cans, some resin folded tarps, and some camo net... all 1/35 of course

and something to rust up, well maybe not the Nomad.
