“Vive la France!” writes Gary. “It’s a Renault Dauphine. I found the body in a parts box about 20 years ago. It was painted an ugly purple with no parts on it but the side vents. I didn’t know what it was until I took it to our club meeting.” Having little to work with besides the body, engine, and chassis, Gary went on a parts quest: an Austin gasser from Revell provided the frame, radiator, and suspension; a 1967 Chevy contributed floor pans, a fire wall, and the transmission tunnel; a four-speed Mopar transmission and headers came from a Chevy II; and Gary made his own dash from flat aluminum stock. Of the paint job Gary says, “Lots of flake — it had to scream ’60s!”
