My name is Dan, I am 46 years old, living south of Denmark.
My interest in dioramas started about 20 years ago. It all started with a starter kit H0 train, and the landscapes that were around. The interest in H0 train disappeared, I was still fascinated by the beautiful landscapes, but like all model builders, I first found my niche, 10 years ago, and it's ships in and under water. My big passion is U-96 and dioramas around U-96 in different environments. I work mainly with 1: 350 The purpose of this page is to exchange ideas and techniques with others. yes no prob there i take a freame fore paintings in the right size i wont to work with and then i put hard polystyrene in the frame turn it upside down hotglue it then cut out fore the ship take a small blow torch to it and zig zag over it with the blow torch until it looks like waves remember a light tuch wen it is cold i paint it light blue and let it dry then i paint a layr with Water Gel Pacific Blue from ak interctiv let it dry and then a new layer wen its dry i make foam with ak interactiv wather foam

Hello again, Dan. I watched your UTube video, very nicely done. I have another question for you. What did you use to build up the waves that run along the sides of the sub? Did you use the AK Interactive foam? Or something else?

Hey Dan, I found your part 1 video. It is excellent. Using a torch to make waves is brilliant. Very simple and very fast. Do you have the other video parts loaded? I didn't see them.

Hey Steve I have tryet many different vays to make a realistic impression of the ocean but I always goe back to the foam it's just the best results for me and the surface is ready to paint almost emediatly so I kan just recomend it or just try it at least remember not to breath in the fumes and remember to youse the hard fome not the normal kind and I always have a bottle of minaralwather on my tabel better safe than sorry looking forward to se your result

Okay Steve could I see some of the work you have done aim building a new work space for my dioramas so I haven't been able to make dioramas this week but aim coming back next Friday

Sure can. With regard to a seascape and what you are probably most interested in--here is a fun one that I did. I would like to do another submarine DIO, or possibly a masted ship DIO. That may be a few years off though. Too many projects, so little time. I bounce around from genre to genre. I am currently working on a Bell X-1 rocket plane, a modified Lamborghini, and I just finished a Redstone rocket.
Nice work waw just to clear abut dioramas my preferred is the ocean but I like all types of dioramas sometimes I try new setups you know the desert or jungle but it's like the ocean is a safe place you know the feeling is like I don't *** up ocean dioramas and that's why I'm here to see new things and get new ideas and see how other people work and there teckniks to make the results they are yousing
Hi Dan, thank you. The technique that I use is based off of the link below. I used different materials but it is the same process, sort of. I did not use plaster nor did I use the paper. If you want to know more of how I did mine, let me know. Otherwise, the video gives a great basis to it.
