Great story, Chuck!  And I think I'll get a poster made of Hptm. Hannah made up!

The summer's slowly reaching its end, the nights are cool but comfortable, and we're now serving Franziskaner and Spaten Dunkeles in the Sternbräu's Jagagart'n.  Soon it'll be time to start brewing for next year...

Laugh [(-D]

We'll miss you over the next couple of weeks! Working overtime or enjoying the beach? (Or both?)

How much smoke have you been getting from that fire above La Canada? We're starting to get a bit of the smoke even clear over here in Phoenix!

Looks like a swell spot for spot of ale, Baron- cheers!

Hello to all!   Things have been keeping me quite busy lately- hence the lack of updates.  It looks like you might not see me again for a couple weeks- sorry!  All is well, so no need for worry- the 410 will keep for wee bit more.

To tide you over, here's an old snapshot of Hauptmann Hannah I found in my Uncle Wally's effects.  He was tail gunner on B-17 Kitty Hunter, which she forced down in occupied France, capturing all hands and earning yet another Iron Cross.   From the sour look on my Aunt's face when I asked her about the event, it seems Hannah was quite flirtatious with the crew and spared them from the wrath of the local Gestapo.   Later in the war Uncle Wally was involved in an escape from his stalag, sneaking out in an empty sauerkraut barrel.  He made it to Spain disguised as an itinerant pretzel salter, aided by nuns from the Divine Order of Ste. Bertranda the Topheavy.   He lived a long and prosperous life, establishing a small but successful franchise of pretzel carts in New York and Chicago.

Thanks, Chuck!

I think we're all, most of us, in the modeling pause, now.  For me, instead of evenings at the bench, it's evenings sitting in my beer garden out back, listening to the Phillies games on the radio and enjoying a glass or two:

(that's a shot from around Easter, I've since moved the spreading yews from the back to the back edge of the patio, and put proper shrub yews in their place.  And there's a lot more shade now)

Only when it was too hot and humid to sit out, or when it rained, did I go down the basement and putter.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Prost!

Brad

Hi, FineScalers!  Sorry if I haven't been around lately- I've been busy, summer's been fine- and I went out and got a life! ;)   I have snuck some building time in- just had toi do other things in the three hours a week it takes to make a post.

Thanks for the sup[port, Lee- I hope Maffen will pull up a chair and grab one from the cooler.  It's a fun gfang we got here!

Brad, Jim- I simply superglued those lines.   Getting the fir just right demanded having the engine in position and a quickjoin to the parts. So far, so good!

Thanks, Waitress- I'll take another stein, bitte!

Well, I've been at work cutting more on the wings- ailerons, slats and the cooler flaps all will be posed.  I've even glues some kit parts and PE in!  Oh, the dizzying pace of it all...

See you soon!

He'd probably be using heat sinks to draw the heat away from the resin.

Once again, absolutely marvelous!

Excellent job on all of the tubing/feed lines, etc, on the engine, Chuck!  Do I see that correctly, do you solder the joins?  If so, I guess the resin is resilient enough to take the heat so close, isn't it.  However you did it, the result is great!

Regards,

Brad

Maffen- maybe you're just having a hard day, but I do indeed have a job and a real life.  I also love to model, and I spend 2-3 hours a week doing these posts to teach what I can about it.  I invite you to read along and hope you'll enjoy.

It's been a looong month, and sometimes you just need to catch up a bit. Weeks and weeks ago I drew and inked this sketch of Fritzi and Hannah whilst sitting on the beach.  Enjoy this brief update- and cheers, my friends!

LMAO!!  Again, and as always, nicely done, Chukie-boy!  Thanks!!

Maffen, we all consider ourselves pretty lucky that Chuk has chosen to give us the gift of his talents, both modeling and artistically...you wanna see some really cool stuff?  Have a look at his website...

www.chukw.com

He's got some great stuff there...something for everyone, I'd think.  I'm sure you'll find something there that will make your eyes pop.

And in truth, yeah - he goes pretty overboard with his builds...OCD, big time...LOL...but it's darned entertaining, and he shows everything - and from that, it's fun to watch the build, and from it gain a better understanding of how to make better models - he shows us that it's easier than you think...and it's great that he's sharing his journey, but the really cool thing is that he spends a fair amount of time trying to "jazz up" his posts...and I think he does that pretty darned well...not many people expend so much time and energy trying to entertain perfect strangers with no expectation of recompense.  I respect his kindness and generosity a great deal...and my lovely daughter thinks he's awesome...

Stick around, Maffen - you're know you're more than welcome...I think you'll enjoy it...

Cheers, mate!

Cheers, LeeTree

Absolutely awesome there Chuck. I always have a hard time deciding what I like better your modeling or your artwork. They are both fantastic. Do you plan on entering this model in a contest when it is done? If so let me know so I wo'nt bother entering anything of my own!

I think Chuck has already made it clear he has a job, and still manages to produce top notch models!

Get some manners.

Chuck, absolutely stunning as per usual.

I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

Asounding stuff Chuck. Your scratch work is beyond reproach. I realise you probably already have it covered but watch the Supercharger inlets on the wings. Promodeller have these pieces badly shaped and pointing the wrong way so theyll need fettling by you and the girls.
