The M36 Jackson came in yesterday. Picked it up and had a look at the parts. Now to wait until June :)

Box of goodness, and ...

Parts! No clear parts or chrome to worry about for my first build.

EDIT: HMMM, must have moved my photobucket files by mistake. Fixed.

Yes, NO clear parts and the whole friggin' thing is olive drab so NO masking!!!

Just paint the whole dang thing and then do the tires, tracks, machine gun and other detail painting!

I got my kit and other parts out, wanted to make sure it was all there and quickly realized I had no place to work. My bench is such a mess after the last three (concurrent, never do that again) projects, I need to take some time and clean up. But here's my "raw materials", ready to go:

Apprentice rivet counter.

I've already signed on to the German companion GB, so will join here with AFV Club's Stuart V.  Will likely do this one first as it entails less parts.

Bronco's individual track links will replace the kit's 'rubber band' tracks.  Also have a PE update from Royal Model, along with their Commonwealth crew figure set.

Plan is for a Canadian marked vehicle, so have acquired Decalcomanics dedicated decal set - though might opt for an  Archer product.   The ones pictured here look great up to a certain distance, but up close can see a printed screen on all the colours except black.

regards,

Jack

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to go along with Bish and the co-GB he is doing and say the start of this GB will be when the allied forces stormed the beaches.  Bish figured out it was at 0030hrs EST.  So it will officially start then here on the east coast.  So you guys on the Pacific coast or in Hawaii or even Alaska (if there are any), could start tonight!  As for me........don't think 0030hr start will be on the schedule!  Embarrassed

So, for all you Pacific coast troops.....2230hrs, Mountain troops...2330hrs, Central troops....2430hrs, and all the Eastern troops....0030hrs are the deployment times.  Alaska, I think you would be 2130hrs and Hawaii, I think you would be 1930hrs?

Get ready for deployment and let's not forget the ones that fought on D-Day.

I just saw this after being gone for awhile!  I hope it's not too late to count me in with Tamiya's M4A3 Sherman and Willy's Jeep.

I'll be darned...it worked first time!!  Anyway, I still have to attach it but I used Evergreen 1/4" angle to just make a simple 3 prong cutter.  I'm going to use a couple strips of flat styrene to attach it and give it that "welded to the hull" look.
