I'll enter the GB with Airfix's 1/72 Spitfire Mk I.

Doing a count, I seem to have collected thirteen of them.  Surprise

Thats just wrong on so many levels. Big Smile

But thats ok, you can have my share.

Very generous of you, Bish!  Angel

But looking around, I found two more.  Oops

I have fifteen of them.

And I do hope all the Spits in the GB will not be detrimental to your health.  Wilted Flower

Lol ,  since I didn't want to increase the case of heartburn, decided to pass on the big 1/24 version.

I'm in! The hard part is deciding what to build.

- Never built a Spitfire (so ashamed!)

- Have a 1/48 Sea Hurricane, looks like a beautiful kit

- Found an RAF recovery vehicle set on ebay. Might pair it with a Mosquito with damaged landing gear. I dropped a box on it from the shelf above where it was sitting. Kind of looks like it took damage from an emergency landing in long grass....

O, the Nimrod, nice. I look forward to seeing that, i have the same kit and hope to do that in 2020.

As for the other one, well i guess i can forgive you seeing as your doing the Nimrod Wink

LOL!!!!  Sorry mate, had to do the Spit jab at you.  And thank you Sir Bish for your graciousness in letting be do it.  LOL!!!!

The Nimrod is a beast!  I looked at the instructions last night...45 steps!  And the bloody decal sheet...woah!!!!  Now I just have to decide which one to do.  Of course I'm partial to anything that was in Saudi with me, but there are a couple of other paint schemes I really like and think would look good hanging from the ceiling.  I have time to decide.  Whistling

It is a beast isn't it. I got mine second hand and it didn't have decals. I did manage to get some AM ones, but would have like to do the Falkland option with the sindwinders. I would deffinetly look good next to your Victor. I look forward to seeing how it builds up.

Yo! Bish. I'm still in with my Boeing Clipper and maybe my 1/72 Boeing B-29.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Glad you are frank. I'll add the clipper and hang fire on the 29 until you know for certain.

That fort brings back some memories, i built that same boxing way way back.

Bish, on your side of the pond, wasn't the B-29 called the Washington in the RAF?

Real G,

That is a nice little kit. One word of caution from my build. You have to insert the main landing gear into the booms before attaching the bottom of the wings so be careful that you don't mash them during assembly or decalling. Mine are a little splayed out because I forgot they were there.

Lewbud, thanks for the heads up!  I did notice the mains had to go in before the lower wings.  Airfix Mag had an article where the builder trimmed down the locator tabs to allow the gear to go in afterwards.  I might try that, since the legs are very delicate looking.

I don’t know what it is about this kit, but there is something special here.  I can’t quite articulate what it is, but have felt it the moment I saw it in the magazines.  More reason to pile on and get it done in 2019!

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s Airfix builds in January!

Hi,

When I was a kid Airfix was the only brand arround .

Back in the early 70ies my Grandfather bought me the Airfix ME 109 1/24 for X-Mas.

At the time I had the experience of some 1/72 kits, but this was something completely different!

Grandmother was very angry with him, I guess she (quiet rightfully) thought that this was far to expensive a X-Mas gift.

Next year after he bought me the Scheherazade tales in 3 volumes, the man was my Hero!

So in Memorian: Could I join this GB with the Hawker Typhoon 1B - Car Door 1:24.
