The Archer eye decal sheets are really good. Great quality printing though they don't work that well for me on small (54mm/1/35th) figures.  I like to just use a small pen and dot the eye, works well enough for me for something that small.

Biggest issue is they provide you with lotsa blue and green eyes and most of the figures I have are Asian- more brown eyes would be nice.

I hopefully will be done by the end of the year... 

Anyway the face is done unless something goes wrong. I used eye decals from Archer decals. Sorry about the quality of the photo. 

I have the torso where I want it, will get photos up hopefully sometime in the next six months... The legs are more or less where I want them though the airbrush spat spots all over them, I need to get them oversprayed to clean that up. 

I don't really care if she's a robot as long as she makes good sandwiches..... 

All joking aside, looks like I'll have to redo a little on the legs, there's a few scuff marks. I started masking on the chest/torso area and found a few places there too to putty and sand. 

Oh, nice legs and skin tone, until you scroll up to the creepy mid section. I'm glad I won't be around when the human race advances enough to actually have androids or replaicnts or whatever names writers and Hollywood have given them. Beyond the uncanny valley.

Anyway here's where I am. I was considering a few other options but decided to go with the Terminator style chrome look. I think I'll paint the chest area and some of the other details white. 

I'm halfway thinking of trying to print out a couple of Korean or Japanese electrical warning labels and sticking them on her...

Oh gee friggin' whiz Steve!!! I was just looking at this thread last night! 

I've been experimenting on and off over the last six months with different skin tones on the cyborg/android and didn't find anything I really liked. Tried Real G's orange Tamiya translucent paint and didn't really like it - though still big thanks G for the advice! 

Finally hit on something I liked about two weeks ago and sprayed it and then did the Alclad II chrome on the mechanical bits yesterday. Like a dummy though got a friggin' cell phone with a camera on it and still didn't snap any photos! 

Will try to get some photos up this week. Hopefully she'll be done by the end of the month... 

Since this GB has sota ground to a halt, I'm going to shut it down at the end of the year.

Dec 31 21 should give anybody enough time to complete something. 

I have two new GB's in the works starting next year and I need to drop some of my extra baggage.

Tour free to contiue to work on your subject it you wish after the end of the year and I'll count it.

I'm mostly happy with how the figures face is turning out. It's just I'm using Vallejo paint, which I normally use on faces. It's not formulated for airbrushing. I looked at Vallejo's website over lunch and they have listed acrylic retarder, which makes the paint dry a little slower. I had a LOT of paint buildup on the tip, and the brush kept clogging up. I have some retarder at home I'm going to give a try. 

The cheeks and chin I mostly airbrushed, which is little hard to see in the photos, and I'm very happy with how they turned out. I'm just not sure if there should be a little more contrast. The brow ridges, nose, divot between the upper lip and nose I brush painted, which I was going to spray a little thinned down paint to dull down the contrast. The Tamiya clear orange may be just the thing here. 

It's kinda annoying since I normally do only men. If they're a little rough and beaten-up looking it works. 

In any case if I don't like it I can just repaint the whole thing. 

Thanks guys, I just need a poke every now and then to keep me moving in the right direction.

I discovered that airbrushing flesh tones is tricky.  When I airbrushed a figure's face for the first time, I started with the lightest base tone, then worked up to progressively darker tones.  I made a mistake and tried to touch up a dark tone area with a light tone, but the area took on a really weird red-brown look and didn't match anything on the face.  The translucent flesh colors did not play well when going from dark to light.  I had to start over from the base color.  

One trick that I have used is to finish with a thinned glaze of Tamiya Clear Orange.  It imparts a more lifelike look on flesh.  And wooden panels & tools too!  This is the figure in question:

Don't look too close at the Baron - there are lots of goofs that I could not see with just my eyes!  The All-Seeing Digital Camera is a cruel mistress.

I had yesterday off so I worked a little on the 'flesh' tones- mostly on the face. They looked way too stark so I took my airbrush and toned them down a bit- maybe too much. 

It's kinda a new thing here, I mostly paint faces the size of peas, this one is about the size of ping pong ball - maybe 3/4 the size of a golf ball. And I'm trying to use paint formulated for hand brushing in an airbrush in some applications- if I do this again I may look into different paint.

I did get the flesh tones laid down on my figure before going on vacation. I just have to work up the courage to start on all the shading and highlights now.

I recently picked up some old brightly colored drink stirrers (swizzle sticks) so I decided to try and add a death ray "beam" to my build.  I don't know if I am going to keep it or not, or if I might try and modify it up a bit, but I wanted something to help make the vehicle look a bit more "non-conventional".

Btw: She's 1/6th scale I think. I think that's right- the figure is about 9"/23cm tall. 

I have no idea who the company is. There wasn't anything printed on the box and there is no instructions. I was worried that the figure was a recast but the quality is excellent, only a few pin holes. And it was so well packaged, everything in a plastic bag with plenty of bubble wrap. A very professional job, not the slapdash production I've seen in some recasts . So I dunno...  

I'm sure they were thinking of "Ex Machana" when they designed her.

The figure is about half sexy and half creepy. It hits the 'uncanny valley' hard which is the major reason I bought it. 

And Real G, nope not a USB port. Though it does look like one in the photo. That would be a bridge too far on the weirdness scale for me...

I think that looks cool Pat! Very cool idea and you did a fantastic job bringing it to life. 

I still haven't done anymore work on my shark. Just seems something going on all the time that keeps me from it. I want to get two tanks done I've working on, then the Comet tank for Bish's British Army GB, and then the Zero for my GB and hopefully, hopefully I'll be able to get back to SPACESHARK. 

That's cool looking Pat and I like the history. I think it's fun to kitbash something together, try new techniques and generally have fun with using my imagination and spare parts box.
