I'd like to join in on this. I was a reservist, mobilized for Desert Storm, hard to believe it's been almost 30 years. I don't have a subject chosen yet, I'd need to go through my stockpile to see what I have, but I think I might prefer something that I drove (which wasn't much). I'll do some research to see what's out there.

I made an error at the local hobby shop today and bought the Tamiya 1/48 m1a2 abrams variant instead of the m1a1 used in Desert Storm. Based on my research though, I could pretty easily convert it to an m1a1 for the group build if that is ok with you Glamdring.

I'm in with a 1/48 hasegawa A7 VA-72

I couldn't finding an interesting kit of anything I drove, so I'll go with something that was most certainly a lot more fun to "drive" than anything I touched.

Did a cursory look through the kit and decal stashes to see what's on hand for this build.  Right now, providing I stick to my New Year's resolution of not buying any new kits so I can reduce the stash (hey, it's the thought that counts) I can do the following a USMC OV-10D, an A-6E TRAM, AV-8B Harrier, A-10A, F-14A, and an Italian F-104 that participated in the Kuwait campaign. If I decide to add to the decal stash, then a F-16 and some RAF ac could be added,

I'm in with the AFV Club 1/35th M109A2, still got to get the kit yet, and i will squeeze it in some how next year.

Robert invited me here (thanks a lot!) and I thught - nice, I'm starting it anyway, and I can always use some additional info, so here I go:

It's 120mm scale Verlinden resin kit 631.

Now I'm looking for references on the cover - what's the correct name for the cap the captain is wearing? What color would the underside of the visor be?

Not a lot going on in this group build, eh?

Robert didn't even add me to the roster :-(

Now in the meantime I found out Verlinden got it very wrong in adding the captain bars to the cover - Marines don't do that. And the EGA (Eagle, Globe & Anchor) is wrong either - it should be "iron on" instead of a metal pin on - so I shaved it off, too. More details in the build thread, here's the painted cover:

So here's how the Captain looks like at the moment:

I think I will now try my hand on the "chocolate chip" on the trousers, let's se how this turns out. Thanks for looking and have a nice day

Sorry I have been letting this stew for a few days, a bad cold and other GB deadlines have been occupying my time.  What a way to spend a week of vacation.
