I would like to point out something that as a judge, When judging cars at model shows, I have run into time after time. If you are a detail freak this will speak to you. Everyone else needs to heed these words.
When you detail up the engine compartment and engine, Check the details. I must admit I am puzzled by the gorgeous detail in this area, when if it was real, it wouldn't even start. Much less run for long. I have seen the following more times than not.
The Car is gorgeous, The Interior is breathtaking, Wheels and Tires awesome. and so on. BUT, Now here's the rub. When you look in the engine compartment there's so much missing among all that detail! Here's the list. Great Carb or Injectors, Where's the linkage? Great wiring detail, Where's the Battery Cables and connections? Nice hose work, where's the lower radiator hose? and so on. We get so wrapped up in the details we forget things.
I would suggest this. Build this compartment as modules.The last module is the engine and it's hookups. When those are done so are you!
