Blasphemi
Posted by Mr Mike on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 11:52 AM

This is my long term attempt to build my version of Mike Finnagan's Blasphemi.  A '55 Chevy gasser that runs a 8.52 @ 161 MPH in the quarter mile.  That's fast!  Normally, I build evrything else that is stock or mostly stock and this one is a Chevy with a Mopar 528 CI Hemi in it, so it might qualify as a build by me.  I am still searching my parts box for parts and I need to find a satin black for the body which has a flip front end.  My thanks to Doug Estabrook for the kit!

More Blasphemi to come...

Hello!

A photo of the real thing would help here...

I'm not a big fan of the "gasser" front axle/look, but I'm a big fan of 55/6/7 bel airs, so I'll be watching, too!

Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Paweł

That is moving for sure!  I'll follow this one along Mike.  Big fan of drag racing.

Thanks,

John

That is really quick.  Put that in perspective modern super cars can't break 10 seconds and 135 mph.

Those are the numbers in NHRA where the rules tighten up.

For satin black paint I use John Deere "Blitz Black". It comes in a 12oz rattle can and I get from a local John Deere dealer. It looks a bit ugly going on but drys to a very smooth satin finish and it can go on bare plastic ok.

Here's a picture of Blasphemi, Pawel!  Like I said previously, I am not a fan of drag racing, but this '55 Chevy with a Hemi engine appeals to me!
