That's a great looking color!  I'm looking forward to seeing the finished build.

I have finished assembloing the wheels and tires, but I am undecided about what to do with the gap between the whitewall and the wheel.  The interior sides are in, but they could use a little detailing.  I also painted the interior roof white.  Then I wired the engine and once the body and interior has been added, I'll add the ignition coil.

Those wheels look great Mike.

I got the tires assembled, but the whitewalls don't go all the way to the inner edge of the tire by the wheel.  I may have to paint this with some flat white or use my white Gelly Roll pen as I had used on the front tires. I fired up the paintbooth and I painted the engine and the dash panel with Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue.

Thanks Lee, Jim, fotofrank, and oldermodelguy!  One of the reasons I bought this model was the possibilty of the Buick Nailhead engine being in the kit and there it was!  It is great that this kit has a different engine in it since many rodders build their rods with a small block Chevy.  Interesting though is that the tires decals don't go to the inner edge of the tire, near the wheel like they should.  

 

Good to know there is a naihead in the kit.

Thats funny, I was thinking anything but another sbc if I got this kit, can't say your choice came to mind though ! I do like something different, that will be different for sure. You're gonna need to do something with the firewall to get the extra length in I imagine.

I'm old enough to remember when Portawalls were in vogue.

      Porta-Walls? I didn't think anyone remembered those. They were quite common wherever J.C.Whitney and Warshawsky catalogues were found. The idea was to jack up your car, Lower the tire pressure and insert between the wheel and tire.Then re-inflate the tires to recommended pressure and they were locked in place. Didn't fit bad till the owner hit a curb.Then they would wrinkle up.

Great color.  Got this kit coming from a friend.  Going to put a pontiac ohc6 in it.

The two options are a Highboy and a lowboy chassis setup.

Portawall?  I had to look that one up and they are fake whitewalls for a blackwall tire.  The kit tires give you the option of blackwall tires or adding the whitewall decals for a whitewall tire.

I painted the body, wheels, side panels and frame for the '30 Model A.  Looks great!

I used that blue for my '72 Bronco.  I should have enough for the Model A. 

The '30 Model A has been washed and is drying.  The engine is partially assembled and awaiting primer and paint.  I added the decals to the tires and with a little setting solution, they came out perfectly!

Do those tires have Portawall white walls?

It says 2 in1 kit on the box. What are the two options consisted of ?

I have this and the 29 on the wish list.  That's the same blue I did my Bronco in as well :)
