Uploading Pics
Posted by Olezippi on Friday, January 14, 2022 7:14 AM

I'm fairly new to this forum.  I find it very time consuming to insert the link for each pic I want to add to my post.  Is there a way to grab multiple pics to upload in my post?

Hello!

When I have several photos to upload, I usually nam them paint01.jpg, paint02.jpg, paint03.jpg and so on. Then I upload one and then I switch the edit window to code (icon in the top row, looking like that: <>). Then I copy and paste the code representing the picture and change the file name in each entry - that's the fastest way I found. Still very awkward, eh? But I don't see any other way unless the forum software here gets a major update and you can upload whole directories/folders.

Looking forward to more pictures from you - and have a nice day

Paweł

Why the asterisks? Is there a particular reason for using them in all of your threads? I've noticed the same thing at MCM as well Confused

Just out of habbit I guess.  A forum I was a member of years ago didn't have the option to see all your discussions like we do here and that was an easy way for me to spot my post when I would scroll through all the post in the forum.

The asterisks tend to limit the search functions ability to find posts and threads on most forums. If someone does a search for a certain subject and you have an asterisk in the title it won't pick up your thread unless they add the asterisk in the search parameters. Just an FYI, thats all.

ImageShack lets you do that really easily.  You just select the pics you want to share, and then click the "get links" button.  A box comes up with the links, already highlighted for a quick right-click and copy.  You can also select the size of the pic, or you can select thumbnails.  Thumbnails is usually what I do, because people can see a full-sized pic if they want to, and its not a huge photo posted in the thread which can sometimes freak out peoples' browsers.  Go to your post and paste the links...and Bob's your uncle, even puts the BB code tags around them so they display properly on a forum.

I got the name Zippi from back in the day when we just to run the local bulliten boards before the Internet really took of and the old PK Zip and PK Unzip had to be used.  I seem to get those commands wrong a lot so somebody called me zippi one time and it stuck.
